Training Centre
We are a RYA and AALA recognised Training Centre with a comprehensive Training Programme of courses, tuition and hire for adults and children. We are experts in the delivery of tuition, from beginner to advanced, of Dinghy Sailing & Windsurfing and Powerboating (up to RYA Powerboat Level 2 and Safety Boat, including ICC certification and CEVNI tests).
The 2008 Training Programme can be downloaded from the website by clicking the above link or obtained as a hard copy by contacting QMSC on 01784 248881 or by emailing sailondon@queenmary.org.uk. You do not need to be a member of the Club to participate in our training courses or hire our equipment. Beginners are required to achieve RYA Level 2 to hire dinghies and RYA Start Windsurfing to hire windsurfing kit.
The majority of our adult courses run at weekends and our Youth Programme for 8-15 year olds runs during all school holidays (except for February half-term) and also at weekends. Our scheduled courses generally run from March to November and personal tuition and hire of equipment is available all year.
The Training Centre is managed by Simon Winkley, Sailing Manager and Principal at QMSC. Simon has 15 years experience in watersports worldwide and is qualified as a RYA Coach/Assessor, Advanced, Racing, Multihull and Keelboat Instructor and as a RYA Intermediate Windsurf Trainer, Advanced Plus Windsurfing Instructor and RYA Powerboat Instructor. He leads a qualified, experienced, friendly and enthusiastic team to help you enjoy, and make progress in, your sailing, windsurfing and powerboating.
The office staff at QMSC will be happy to advise you on appropriate courses, either as a beginner or relative to your previous experience.
Courses may be booked by telephone, post, fax or email. Full payment is due at the time of booking. All bookings are subject to terms and conditions. Most credit cards are accepted and cheques are payable to "Queen Mary Sailsports". Call us on 01784 248881 to reserve your place on a course.
