The world is going sailing again with Bart's Bash #3! This year it's all happening over the weekend of 17/18 September 2016, with lots of ways you can get involved at QMSC and join in the largest sailing race in the world. As well as the main race on Sunday morning, we have a race on Saturday morning, AND Bart's Buoy Race will be running all weekend so you can turn up and try your speed in a Pico on either day.
This year, funds raised by Bart's Bash will go towards developing and supporting grass roots disabled sailing around the world, so this is your chance to make your mark on the Bart's Bash leader board and make a difference.
Bart’s Bash – Saturday Club
Our famous social sailing Saturday club will lead the charge on Saturday 17 September with fun racing all counting towards our Bart’s Bash participation. Briefing at 10am with a cuppa tea in the club house, banter and action on the water, simply turn up and get involved.
Bart’s Bash – Sailability
As a leading venue for disabled sailing our Sailability group will be out in force on Saturday 17th with activities joining the Saturday Club. The Buoy Race will also be a feature activity as we aim to get as many people sailing as we can.
Bart’s Bash – Sunday Club Race
The first race of the day on Sunday 18 September will count as our Bart’s Bash main race. This is the Club's normal Sunday race and counts towards the Autumn Series so a double bonus for all involved! Newcomers and potential members are welcome to join us on this special day.
Bart’s Bash - Laser Big Sunday
The mighty QM Laser class are hosting one of their BIG Sundays in an attempt to get as many Laser sailors on the water as possible this year. Results will also count towards the Lasers Big Sunday series, all led by Fleet Captain and all round lovely chap Tony Woods.
Bart’s Bash – Youth Group
The next generation of sailing legends hit the water at 2pm for Youth Group on Sunday, racing in the Bart’s Buoy Race. All welcome to race in the buoy race - just ask, there will be boats available for anyone with Stage 3 to take part.
Bart’s Bash – Sunday BARBEQUE 12-4pm
Refuel with our BB BBQ BBburgers and BBbuns, grilling all afternoon on the waterfront.
ALL WEEKEND - Bart’s Buoy Race
All weekend (10am till 4pm both days) there will be a fleet of Picos available to jump in and sail around the ‘Bart’s Bash Buoy’ and back. Record a time and distance to get an official result on the world wide Leaderboard, as you compete against the best in the world all over the world!
