Club Vass 17th June 2012

Following the success of our previous club trips to Dahab and Minorca in 2011, Queen Mary are excited to bring to you the first of our 2 club trips, for club members, family and  friends, to the resort of Club Vass for one week commencing 17th June.

Vassiliki (Vass) is a great resort providing excellent windsurfing, top instruction, comfortable, quality rooms, with a well equipped centre. If you’re learning, improving, blasting, gybing and freestyling this is the place for you. It is a unique wind location offering a range of conditions to suit all levels of windsurfer. For atmosphere it’s hard to beat.

For the active there’s mountainbiking, wakeboarding, waterskiing, diving, stand up paddleboarding, snorkelling, all just a few of the light wind alternatives. Rib rides to nearby beaches are very popular; you can organise these for the morning so you don’t miss the wind!

The wind at Vass is perfect. In the morning you’ll see a calm sea breeze ideal for the beginner and improver groups. Or, if you fancy, show off your light wind freestyle with some of the instructors. The afternoon will bring a cross-shore wind typically between a force 4-7, ideal for improvers to advanced levels.

QM Members, families and friends are able to take advantage of the discounted price of £599 per person, irrespective of what standard of accommodation you choose. This is equivalent to a discount of £100 on the Andromeda studios, £130 on the Hotel first floor rooms,  £150 on the Hotel top floor rooms and £200 on the Hotel front seaview rooms . The higher standard rooms are likely to run out first so book as early as you can.

The club hotel, right on the beach overlooking the centre, includes pool, childcare options and air conditioned rooms. Fantastic food is also available from the restaurant on site, with a new bar on the beach.

The Andromeda Studios which are 500m, a 10 minute walk to the club, are more tranquil. They are self catering with a fridge, dual hob and sink.

Prices above include a return flight from Gatwick (departs Sunday 0630 –returns Sunday 1355) overseas transfers, accommodation as specified on a room only (hotel) or self catering (Andromeda) basis and windsurfing kit hire and tuition. Also included is use of their range of mountain bikes and stand up paddleboards. The prices are based on 2 persons sharing a room or studio. If anyone would prefer a room for sole occupancy there would be a single supplement payable. A cheaper option would be to pair up. A deposit is required of £125 with the balance at 9 weeks prior to departure.

Eating in Vassiliki is easy; the town is a 15 minute walk away, where you will find many taverns and restaurants. A must have is the popular Gyro which is about 2euros; a pitta filled with meat, chips, onion, tsatsiki and tomato! If you fancy something more classy there are many seafood restaurants as you are in an active fishing town. Supermarkets and beautiful bakeries are dotted along the roads offering many other must haves. Professional pictures can be provided by www.globalshots.co.uk.

Club Vass includes instruction in their package with highly talented RYA qualified coaches.  As well as this it is hoped that some intermediate or advanced QM instructors will be heading out to join you. With experience of the location we can advise and organise excursions, recommend restaurants and of course offer some tuition.
