Game of Thrones star backs charity world record attempt

Game of Thrones star, James Cosmo, is backing an attempt to break the world record for biggest paddle board parade on Saturday 18 June at Queen Mary reservoir. He will attend the SUPer Mile event and sign photographs to support Mahlale High School in South Africa.
If more than 264 participants register for the parade, they will each become a World Record holder.
Participants will be encouraged to raise funds to help the Africa Foundation build a science laboratory at Mahlale High School in one of South Africa's most deprived areas.
James Cosmo said: "I am delighted to be able to support this great project to offer the children at Mahlale High School new opportunities and a better future."
The event is being organised by Queen Mary Sailing Club in conjunction with Africa Foundation and Hampton Court House school. Pupils from the East Molesey school will be running a market and games at the event to raise even more funds.
Ben Ruddin, Second Master of Hampton Court House said: "The SUPer Mile is a brilliant opportunity for anyone to get involved in supporting a great project and learn a new skill. Every penny raised goes directly into building facilities that will change children's lives in South Africa."
Anyone aged over 8 is encouraged to register for the Super Mile at www.supermile.org.uk - registration costs just £2. No experience is necessary: paddle boards and an introductory lesson will be provided.
