Like sailing but not always racing? Meet the Saturday Club

The Saturday Club is restarting for the season this weekend. It runs every fortnight through till the end of November.

Its main aim is to get everyone who turns up out on the water and enjoying themselves. If you have a boat but no crew, if you are a crew and have no boat, if you are a crew and would like to helm, then we can usually fix this for you by teaming you up with others.  Windsurfers with access to their own or the Club Select kit are as welcome as dinghy sailors.

From time to time we will have themes for the day which may be brushing up on skills (knots, sail setting, coming back to pontoons etc), or perhaps some very informal and light hearted racing (with handicaps applied to anyone too fast for the rest).  We will also aim to let you try new boats such as keelboats and catamarans, and introduce you to spinnakers and trapezing.  So whatever your interest and level there should be something for you.

We assemble between 9:45 and 10:00 at the Saturday Club table on the upper deck to work out who is sailing what.  Normally we are back ashore around 12:30 and for those who can stay on we have lunch together after that.  Let the office know if you would like to be put on the mailing list - or just turn up.
