Rememberance Sunday (11th November) & Keelboat launching

This coming Sunday 11th is Rememberance Sunday.  As is tradition we will be holding a 2 minute silence from 1100.  The course and committee boat will be in position prior to the silence, with the aim to have the first warning signal for club racing as soon as possible after (approximately 1115).  We encourage all club members to either remain on the shore, the pontoon or tied to a mooring during this time.  For any boats on the water, please lie-to.  Queen Mary staff will be on standby to assist with the quick launching of boats after the silence.
A cannon shall be fired to signal the start and finish of the 2 minutes.

Unfortunately the main west side pontoon is still under refurbishment, leaving a watery gap between the two ends.  The hoist is however still useable with room for one keelboat at a time on the inner pontoon.  Queen Mary will be able to offer tows out to moorings for keelboats launching on the west side in order to keep things moving. However if any keelboat would like to use the East side hoist and sail round, please do so.

Kind regards,
The QM Team
