30 intreped youngsters headed for QM this weekend to compete in the rescheduled Topper Open which was part of the South East Topper Traveller Series. The original date of the event proved to be completely wind free and this Saturday was a complete contrast with a good force 4 all day.
2 races were sailed in the morning with Harriet Ward and Angus Couper both from Queen Mary setting the pace. After lunch Harriet continued to dominate and completed the event with 3 first places to her name. In overall second place was Clive Jackson from Papercourt, third was Daniel Archer from Bewl Valley, fourth Angus Couper from Queen Mary and fifth was Nick Humphries all the way from Pevensey Bay. All competitors were praised by Race Officer Bob Joce for competing in such testing conditions and went away with an RYA Sail for Gold wristband.
