We are delighted to announce that Queen Mary Sailing Club has confirmed its partnership with TracTrac, provider of live GPS sports tracking, and will become the first Tractrac Centre of Excellence in the UK. This will bring GPS based live tracking of racing directly into the Clubhouse and onto the internet. Spectators and fans at Queen Mary will be able to follow racing live from the water as it happens on a large screen TV, whilst remote friends and family can choose to follow the action live on the internet - through their pc, smartphone or tablet. With unlimited replays, Competitors and coaches can review race performance either in the Clubhouse after racing or later from home.
The Commodore of Queen Mary Andrew Craig said 'we have had great interest in boat tracking from members, class associations, sailing companies and indeed others and we also think tracking is one of the best ways to inspire more people, especially youngsters, to get into sailing. The type of activities we are looking to track range from Club racing, coaching days and boat tuning clinics to open meetings. In addition, there are not so obvious uses such as following dragon boat racing, umpire training for match racing and even keeping up with progress on the forthcoming Lap the Lake charity walk'. Andrew went on to say 'What we like about TracTrac is their attention to detail and how easy to use we have found the system. This is a new service that we hope will have a really positive impact on members, guests and spectators at Queen Mary'.
‘With over 8 years of tracking sailing events live, TracTrac are delighted to be partnering with Queen Mary Sailing Club to set up the first TracTrac Centre of Excellence in the UK’ commented Lyn Whaley, Director of TracTrac UK. ‘By providing Live Tracking of their activities, Queen Mary Sailing Club will bring a new exciting dimension to racing, coaching and training.’
