Improver Sailing: Stage 3

All of our courses are taught by RYA qualified instructors in groups with a maximum ratio of 6 students to each instructor. Teaching takes place on the water and in the classroom and we move between the two depending on the group, the weather conditions and the requirements of the curriculum. We normally use Laser Picos on this course and the student will usually be sailing single handedly.

The improver course at Queen Mary focusses on RYA Stage 3 of the curriculum. On achieving Stage 3, the student will be able to sail in any direction and rig and launch their own boat. Unless the student has a significant amount of sailing experience, it is quite normal for Stage 3 to be completed after more than one Improver Sailing course.

The course currently runs with one age group: 8-15 year olds.
