Club Race can be a daunting prospect for people new to the racing scene. Sailors who book onto this session will receive an introductory briefing from one of the Safety Team on objectives for the day’s racing as well as a debrief afterwards with any introductory coaching points noted whilst racing. This session is ideal for those sailors relatively new to club racing who would like some extra guidance in how to progress up the fleet. Free for all members!

Start Winging with QM's Discover-Wing Sessions for those over 18.
These introductory adult sessions offers a foundational understanding of winging, divided into two main segments: Flying the Wing Ashore and Getting Afloat. These sessions focus on mastering the basics of wing control, harnessing its power for forward movement and steering.

High Performance Academy
This is the course for you if you like to go fast! Depending on the day’s forecast we will sail a variety of different boats with one aim – send it as fast as you can! Weather and experience depending – we will sail Lasers, catamarans, performance asymmetrics and even go foiling. As the aims of this course are weather dependent, we will not be covering RYA syllabi with the exception of RYA First Flight if the conditions permit. The focus rather is on having fun in a variety of different performance dinghies. Please note you should have completed RYA Stage 4 to join this course.

Join QM's Race Squad! Meeting once every four weeks, this squad will give you extensive race training experience as well as meeting like-minded people. Team 15 Week
This Youth Windsurfing Club is designed to get as much water time as possible. Based on developing skills, drills and fun without specifically working towards RYA Stages, the sessions also aim to provide some independence so that our Youth Windsurfing Members can learn to arrive, rig and head out on the water by themselves; which all equates to more water time!
The minimum requirement for Team 15 JC Week is Stage 2 Windsurfing.
Team Race Training
Come and try out team racing in our four RS Quests. During the morning you will learn about the various mark traps that make team racing what it is. In the afternoon rotate through in teams of four to race each other. Prizegiving at the end of the day. Free to Select Members!
The Carnival Cup
An afternoon of racing RS21 keelboats at QMSC. Booking is made per person with discounts for Club Members and further discount for Club Keelboat Members.

The RS21 Sprints
Come along for a half day of sprint racing in our RS21's. A great opportunity to get out on the water and compete in style. Please book your space here and read the Sailing Instructions and Notice of Race above prior to attending.
The Summer Championships
The Summer Championship is a fleet race regatta for Sonar type boats and RS21’s. The Organising Authority (OA) is RTYC Regattas, Ltd. And Queen Mary Sailing Club.
Booking for QMSC Club RS21 - Entry includes use of a RS21 for the Weekend and four tickets to the Saturday evening BBQ.

Topper/Tera Week
If you have completed Start Racing and would like to find a way to hone your racing skills further this is the course for you! Throughout the week we will work on boat handling skills to help you confidently race the boat around a course and cover some racing tips and tricks to equip you with the knowledge to progress up the fleet! This course is best suited to those aged 10-14 (for older/taller sailors the Laser JC week may be more suitable), contact the office for more information. It runs over 3 full days: Wednesday - Friday.
Topper/Tera Winter Training
Aimed at those wishing to boost their Topper / Tera racing skills; you will needRYA Start Racing qualification or equivalent experience. Please ring the office if you are unsure about your suitability for this course. 4 full day session over the winter.
All participants required to be current QM members.

Windsurf Hi-Fliers Week
This course is designed to develop new skills from a new era of windsurfing. If you have never been foiling before; the course will start with a short introduction to the foil and how to gain flight. This will be followed by a water session focused on gaining flight (and hopefully a photo). The rest of the week will be focused on coaching, promoting good technique, sustaining longer flights and working on the corners! If you can already foil; the course will be focused around coaching the skills you already have and correcting any bad habits. We will also then begin to work towards foiling Tacks, Gybes, Upwind & Downwind foiling and all the techniques to get you going as far and fast as possible!
The minimum requirement for this course is Stage 4 Windsurfing. You must be confidently planing and in the straps.
Windsurf Race Squad
Get out and try your hand at racing. A New opportunity for winter 2023! Build on your current windsurf skills with some excellent tuition on how to get around a race course. You msut have approval from the Chief Windsurf Instructor to join this squad (Email chief.windsurf@queenmary.org.uk)
Winter Youth Laser Training
Learn all there is to know about laser sailing as well as practicing specific racing techniques. You should have have the Start Racing qualification. This is also most suited to children 14 years old plus but is also dependent on height and weight. Please ring QM Office if you are unsure about your suitability for this training. 4 full day sessions.
All participants are required to be current QM members. You must have access to your own boat or a select boat as a select member. However, boat hire if needed must be arranged separately by contacting the Office: £15 per session.
Women's Christmas Keelboating
After our very successful Women's Keelboating Day, here's the opportunity to touch base at Christmas time with us all. A half day of keel boating to celebrate the festive season - christmas hats compulsory! A great day open to all abilities for women supported by female instructors. We hope to see you all soon!
Women's Keelboat Racing
Come and get our racing in our six RS21's with a group of like minded women. Aimed at women with a minimum of RYA Keelboat L2 or experienced dinghy racers. The morning will consist of race training exercises with a race series in the afternoon. Prizes to be awarded!
Women's Keelboating Cup
Come and compete in QMSC's first ever Women's Keelboating Cup. Hosted in our fleet of RS21's, Enjoy an afternoon of competitive racing. This is open to anyone with RYA Level 2 or equivalent experience. Book per person and come either with a team in mind or individually and we will pair you up.
Women's RS21 Keelboating Day
Come along and get sailing in an RS21 with like-minded women. This course is suitable for all abilities from beginner to advanced. Get involved now and feel free to invite your female friends or family! Supported by female instructors.
Women's RYA Keelboat Level 1
Get out on the water for the first time working towards your RYA Level 1. Learn with 4 like-minded women and a female instructor (where possible) in an RS21. Grasp the basics of sailing a boat on your own. Runs over a full weekend and no experience needed.
Women's RYA Keelboat Level 2
Build on your RYA Level 1 skills by working towards RYA Level 2. Learn to complete manoeuvres efficiently and increase your confidence to sail independently. Runs with a women only group with a female instructor. Runs over a full weekend. 40% discount for KB members.
Youth Group Goes.....!
Our Youth Group Goes ..... Series this winter will allow you to get out and try all different types of sailing and racing. The next session is 'Youth Group goes on an adventure'. A great opportunity for all the kids to meet up and get together during the summer months. These sessions will also run during winter 24/25.
Youth Group Ospreys (Introduction to Racing)
Get out Racing - A term to help you learn the basics and gain confidence in getting on the start line and enjoying racing. RYA Stage 3 or equivalent is required to attend these sessions. Runs weekly between Easter and October half term on Sunday PM term time. During winter runs once monthly.

Come and give keelboating a go! If you've already got your RYA Stage 3 and are age 14-17 years old, sign up now to try out our RS21s. Enjoy a fun filled week learning how to use the boat and possible the spinnaker!
