Introduction to RS21 keelboat racing
Saturday 25th April - 10am to 4pm
If you're a keen dinghy racing sailor and would like to have a go at racing RS21 keelboats then this is the day for you!
Early booking price £40 per person - ends Wednesday 25th March.
Keelboats compared to dinghies are a larger, more stable boat with a fixed keel which stops the boat from capsizing. Keel boats are a step up in size from dinghies, more like a small manageable yacht but generally not as big as a cruising yacht. They can bridge the gap between dinghies and cruisers, offering many benefits of both, to the adult beginner.
The day will start with boat orientation, crew positions, controls and full on 'how to sail' an RS21. Then practice sailing round the courses getting used to sailing the boat fast, using asymmetric spinnaker hoist and drops. Finishing the day with practice fleet racing and a mini race series.
