Youth Group Intro Race

Our ‘Intro to Racing’ sessions take place on Sunday mornings (not in club race) and are designed to help you learn the basics and gain confidence in getting on the start line and enjoying racing. There are a lot of new skills to learn to be confident when racing and we hope these sessions will equip and get sailors ready on their journey to becoming our future Olympians!

These sessions are for those who have not raced or have very little racing experience.

A typical session starts at 9:30 with a briefing and overview of the day's focus. The sessions will be a mix of theory, racing and rigging, ending at 12:30. The on-water training will take place away from club racing to give space and time to learn the basics. The goal is to get you ready for the club start line and, towards the end of the term, those ready to race will enter the second of the club’s two morning races.

So, if you have never been on a start line and are totally new to racing this is for you. Intro to Racing is a 3 hour session running for three terms on Sunday mornings.  Parents (or a responsible adult acting in loco parentis) must remain onsite during these sessions.
