Duke of Edinburgh at Queen Mary

There are currently 275,000 young people participating in a D of E award programme in the UK, with over 80,000 achieving a Bronze, Silver and Gold Award each year.

Achieving a DofE Award can be made an adventure from beginning to end. At Queen Mary Sailing Club there are several ways for young people to take part which can count towards their DofE programme sections:

PHYSICAL

Go sailing or windsurfing! For those with minimum RYA Stage 2 we have options for you to go afloat regularly and build fitness, develop your abilities and start competing. This is the most popular section to complete at QMSC.

SKILL

Sailing and windsurfing can also count towards the skill section. Build your communication, confidence, determination and teamwork, and master the technical elements of our sports.

VOLUNTEERING

If you are an Assistant Instructor (or looking to become one!), volunteer to support our instructors in delivering courses and set yourself on the path to becoming a Dinghy or Windsurf Instructor.

Duke of Edinburgh participation is available for members only. To find out about our membership packages please follow the link below:

The Duke of Edinburgh programme at QM is managed by Ross Malloy, our Sailing Principal.  Please enquire with our team and we will set up an initial interview to establish goals and timescales and further explain the process.
