Queen Mary Sailing Club

Queen Mary Sailing Club has inspired and enabled the local community to try and enjoy sailing and windsurfing for 50 years, it is proudly one of the leading inland sailing clubs in the UK.

The club provides opportunities to learn to sail and develop sailing skills at its RYA training school. You can join as a member with sailing kit or as a member using the club’s sailing kit. There are opportunities to race and be involved in competitive sport or to have fun and socialise.

We help provide a memorable sailing experience for children and adults who have any form of physical, sensory or learning disability through our Sailability programme. More than one thousand sailors join us each year for class training and events that we host, which include the London Youth Games (Sailing), the London & South East Regional Youth Championships and the ‘Bloody Mary’ the largest pursuit race in the world, to name a few. In addition, we give over one thousand young people a water sports experience with our holiday courses and activity programmes. With over 700 members it is a valued part the local community serving people living in West London.

The Club has supported many who have gone onto represent their country and achieve medal success at both Olympic and Paralympic levels, as part of the Team GB. But of course, it’s the community that gets the most from our facility by us offering a variety of sailing opportunities to suit every capability from those starting to those in national squads.

Club Facilities

Adjacent to the 700 acre reservoir there is a large clubhouse ranging over two floors with facilities including free wireless internet access throughout.

On the upper deck there is a large hall with panoramic windows overlooking the water leading onto a balcony for those pleasant summer days. There is also a carpeted lounge area with wide screen TV. Our caterers, Claire Cooks Surrey, offer a wide range of delicious freshly cooked food all day Saturday and Sunday. The upper deck is accessible via a disabled lift

On the lower deck we have large ladies’ and mens’ changing rooms with separate disabled facilities. We have a baby changing room, and lockers for valuables (which take an old £1 coin, returnable after your visit, or you can purchase a padlock).

Outside we have berths available for your dinghies and lockable windsurf cages for your equipment. For the keelboat sailors we have two boat hoists and for larger dinghies there are 3 drag winches to help members launch and recover their boats.

As a member you can sail whenever the club is open, store your boat or board in the boat park, use the club house facilities at any time, and attend club social events. There are also club member discounts on our training centre courses and boat hire.
