Sailing Taster

Not sure if your going to enjoy sailing? a taster is just what you need! After a session on land covering the basic boat controls we get you out on the water to have a go. Once you are hooked on the sport of sailing follow the RYA courses to develop your independence on the water (for youth progression please visit the youth pages).

All of our tasters sessions are taught by RYA qualified instructors in groups with a maximum ratio of four students to one instructor, usually in RS21 Keelboats, these boats are more stable than dinghies allowing you to take to the water in a wider range of weather.

If you would prefer to have your first experience in a double-hander dinghy, please contact the office before booking at sailondon@queenmary.org.uk. We also offer Personal Tuition if you would prefer a one to one sailing experience

Sailing Taster Session

The perfect way to get a taste of sailing at Queen Mary Sailing Club.

Once you have received an introduction, the group will take to the water on our RS21 Keelboats. Up to four crew sailing under the supervision of an RYA keelboat instructor.

We use the biggest boats to give you a great experience...no sailing experience is needed!
