The RS200 Fleet

The RS200 is a high-performance doublehanded asymmetric racing dinghy that is suitable for all ages form 12-60+ and is indeed sailed by a broad range of ages at Queen Mary Sailing Club.

Fleet numbers are increasing steadily at Queen Mary Sailing Club, and we are proud to have a very competitive racing fleet.  We also have new sailors to the fleet keen to learn from others within our very friendly group.  The group is always willing to impart knowledge and advice from what to look for when buying a second-hand boat to how to set up the boat or make it go faster!  Training sessions are organised in-house and also with outside coaches.

QM RS200 Series Dates

One Sunday each month, RS200 Series results are extracted from the Sunday race results to create our very own RS200 Series. The idea is that if you only have one Sunday a month to race (but we really hope it will be every Sunday), then make it these dates. in this way we can focus on the specific dates to ensure a large turnout and lots of competition. 

RS200 Series 2024 starts on Sunday 7th April, dates are:

Sunday 7th April (Spring Series)

Sunday 12th May (Spring Series)

Sunday 16th June (Summer Series)

Sunday 7th July (Summer Series)

Sunday 18th August (Autumn Series)

Sunday 15th September (Autumn Series)

Notice of Series to be read in conjunction with the relevant Club Race Sunday Series NOR and SIs.

Visiting Sailors are most welcome to join for these dates by paying the RS200 Series Non-Member Entry Fee below and signing up for the races you are entering in the relevant series here.

Open Events

The RS Spring Championships are being held at QMSC on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th March 2024. For further information please click on the Open Racing events page.

Communications

Communication within QM RS200 fleet is done via our RS200 members' email group. In addition, we also have a WhatsApp group where advice and banter are shared more informally and there is also a QM RS200 Facebook Group.

RS200 Series Non-Member Entry Fee

RS200 Series Non-Member Entry Fee is a half price day sail for non-members wishing to take part in the RS200 Series 2024, which includes Club Race on the day. There are specific series dates throughout the year, which can be found on the RS200 fleet page.
