London’s Wing Festival Returns to Queen Mary Sailing Club

The highly anticipated London Wing Festival is set to return to Queen Mary Sailing Club on Sunday, 18th May. This event will bring together enthusiasts, industry experts and top brands for a day dedicated to wing surfing and wing foiling.

Event Highlights

  • Try the Latest Equipment – You will have the opportunity to test the latest wing surfing and wing foiling gear from leading brands.
  • Meet the Experts – Experts from across the sport will be available to discuss the latest trends, advancements and techniques.
  • Coaching and Skill Development – Whether you're an experienced rider or new to the sport, the event will feature interactive coaching sessions designed to enhance your skills and understanding of the sport.

Jerome Schmitt, our Chief Windsurfing Instructor and the driving force behind Wing Festival, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event:

"This is our second Wing-Fest, bringing together top brands, coaches, and wing specialists from across the UK. We are excited to see our partners unite again for a fantastic day at Queen Mary. With the sport’s growing popularity, we aim to make this event accessible and enjoyable for all participants."

Jerome will lead the coaching team, ensuring all attendees receive expert guidance and support throughout the day.

Beginner Sessions – Introduction to Winging

For those new to the sport, a two-hour beginner session will be available for £45, with a 25% discount for club members. These sessions will provide a wonderful introduction to winging, covering essential techniques and safety practices. Bookings can be made through the link below and includes your entry to Wing Fest and a breakfast bap and Hot Drink!

WING Taster Session (DISCOVER WING-SURFING)

Start Winging with QM's Discover-Wing Sessions for those over 18. 

These introductory adult sessions offers a foundational understanding of winging, divided into two main segments: Flying the Wing Ashore and Getting Afloat. These sessions focus on mastering the basics of wing control, harnessing its power for forward movement and steering.

Additionally, they reinforce essential skills such as board balance, enabling participants to navigate short distances across the wind, execute gybes, and return to their starting point confidently.
