Ahoy there! If you've slipped your moorings, hoisted your sails and honed your skills in your Stage 3 and Aqua Foxes and it's now time to put your abilities to the test in Ospreys the first step to take towards the podium!

Youth Group Ospreys

Youth Group Ospreys takes place on Sunday afternoons (13:30 - 16:30) and will introduce the basic skills and concepts behind racing in a fun and relaxed environment. Through on and off-water lessons, exercises and games you will gain confidence and new abilities to help you zoom your way around a race course.

These sessions are for those who have not raced or have a little racing experience. If you have previous racing experience, you may be more suited to QM Race Squad. Contact Hannah on chief.dinghy@queenmary.org.uk and she can advise which session is better suited.

The sessions will be a mix of theory, rigging and racing, ending at 16:30. The on-water training will take place away from club racing to give space and time to learn the basics. After attending enough ospreys sessions, you will have enough racing experience to take part in QM Race Squad and be well on your way to the podium! Hannah, our chief dinghy instructor, keeps an eye on the kids progressing through Ospreys and will let you know when she feels they're ready to move up.
