Topper/Tera Training

This training will teach you how to race in toppers or teras depending on age/size. Participants must have RYA Start Race or equivalent experience. Any participant who has not sailed a Topper or Tera before is required to chat through their suitability for this training with the QM team prior to booking on. For those who do not own a Topper or Tera, QM have a number of these boats available to hire at £15/session, which would need to be confirmed with the QM office prior to booking on to ensure availability.

The winter months can be challenging – in temperature as well as breeze.  All participants need to be happy in sailing in the cooler temperatures and breezier conditions that is likely to be experience.

All participants need to be current QM club members. 

 

Timings & What to expect

The day runs 09:30 - 16:00. Boats need to be partially rigged ready for the days briefing at 09:30.

Mixture of land based theory/drills and onwater practical sessions.

Boat hire must be booked at the bottom of this page if you do not have access to your own boat and are not a select member. If you are a select member you do not need to pay for separate boat hire

Youth Group Topper 2

Topper/Tera Winter Training

Aimed at those wishing to boost their Topper / Tera racing skills; you will needRYA Start Racing qualification or equivalent experience. Please ring the office if you are unsure about your suitability for this course. 4 full day session over the winter.

All participants required to be current QM members.

Boat hire if needed must be arranged separately by contacting the Office: £15 per session.
