Windsurf Hi-Fliers Week

This course is designed to develop new skills from a new era of windsurfing. The recent surge in Wind Foiling has taken off to the point that has now replaced the RS:X as the Olympic class for Paris 2024 – check out the IQ-Foil from Starboard. All this new and exciting tech means that we are can also revel in the fun.

At QM, we have 4 Foil Ready pieces of equipment ready for action. If you have never been foiling before; the course will start with a short introduction to the foil and how to gain flight. This will be followed by a water session focused on gaining flight (and hopefully a photo). The rest of the week will be focused on coaching, promoting good technique, sustaining longer flights and working on the corners!

If you can already foil; the course will be focused around coaching the skills you already have and correcting any bad habits. We will also then begin to work towards foiling Tacks, Gybes, Upwind & Downwind foiling and all the techniques to get you going as far and fast as possible!

The minimum requirement for this course is Stage 4 Windsurfing. You must be confidently planing and in the straps.

All of our courses are taught by RYA qualified instructors in groups with a maximum ratio of 6 students to each instructor. Teaching takes place on the water and in the classroom and we move between the two depending on the group, the weather conditions and the requirements of the curriculum.
